FLUMERI NEW WKU WORLD CHAMPION
Italian Mirko Flumeri, already WKU European champion, faced Czech Slávek Kučera for the WKU World title K-1 Rules Thaiboxing 60 kg. The two opponents started well in the first round with Flumeri showing more power and decision in his shots. In the second round, a precise hook from Flumeri sent his opponent down to the canvas for the first time. Kucera got up but after a short time he went down again with the second count from the referee. Kucera got to his feet again, but then Flumeri gave him the third knockdown and the fight ended with the third count and the defeat by KOT. So Flumeri wores the new World champion belt.
NOVATI NEW WKU EUROPEAN CHAMPION
Italian Nicolas Novati faced French Yacine Khriji for the WKU European belt K-1 Rules Thaiboxing 67kg. The fight was truly adrenaline filled, with Novati attacking and Khriji reacting promptly. From the middle of the fight the Italian took the initiative and the French always reacted. The two contenders moved forward exchanging hard blows. The judges’ verdict awarded Novati with the European belt.
